Each issue will include activity summaries and projections from the CW Group Research team for all regions of the world, plus in-depth articles on topics and trends of particular interest.

In the April/ May issue of CemWeek Magazine, we introduce the new “CW Research and Analytics” section, which aims to provide our readers with an in-depth analysis of the most relevant developments in the cement industry. Additionally, the current issue features an outlook on China’s coal consumption appetite and its growth projection, complemented by a view on the M&A activity in Africa. Last, but not least, the recent CO2 emissions initiatives are analyzed in a feature article on the climate change puzzle.

This issue of the globally-focused CemWeek Magazine takes a look at cement markets around the world, with the spotlight specifically on the cement sectors in Spain and Egypt. Environmental policies challenging key markets around the world are highlighted. The CW Group's global volume forecast for the first half of 2013 and an interview with Ayman Ismail, the head of Asec Trading is also included.

The CW Group announces the release of Issue 12 of CemWeek Magazine. This issue’s feature article, “Value Engineering as a Strategic Mode,” proposes a CW Group’s strategic Energy Model framework that addresses the broad topic of energy for cement companies. “Logistical Challenges of South America” offers an overview of transportation challenges encountered in this particular region by cement manufacturers. The Leaders Comment section includes an interview with the VP for Energy and Sustainability at global-leader CEMEX, Dr. Luis Farias.

Issue 11 of the CemWeek Magazine highlights the results from the CW Group’s second annual Americas' Sentiments Survey. We examine the Spanish and Algerian cement markets and take a closer look at the UK’s energy prices given.
In the Leaders' Comment section, an interview with Ed Verhamme of Alternate Resource Partners is also featured. A recent presenter at the CBI India conference, Mr. Verhamme discusses waste recovery and alternative fuel options, as they relate to the cement industry.

Issue 10 of the CemWeek Magazine packs a punch as the CW Group dives into some ‘combustible’ issues. CW Group Managing Director and Head of Research, Robert Madeira, discusses the all-important topic of fuel for the cement sector and its relation to a corporate energy strategy. The Group also highlights the latest results from the twice-yearly Global Cement Volume Forecast Report, a global review of cement prices, and UK energy prices. The issue also features a discussion with Per Mejnert Kristensen, EVP, FLSmidth, around his company’s strategy and opportunities in the cement sector. The Regional coverage includes a snapshot of the cement sector in Egypt.

The CW Group announces the release of Issue 9 of CemWeek Magazine. This issue’s feature article, “The Expanding Chinese Influence in Africa,” discusses the local benefits and detriments of recent Chinese investment activity in African nations. “What Happened to Climate Impact” addresses the changing nature of the regulatory discussion as cement companies push forward with their own green initiatives. Research from the CW Group highlighted in Issue 9 includes a Technical Analysis of global gray cement prices, and CW Advisors Partner Terry Pavlopoulos presents the business areas that will be impacted by impending climate change legislation. Regional coverage includes a snapshot of cement manufacturing in Morocco.

In issue 8 of the CemWeek Magazine, we turn to facts as a guide, sharing in this issue some of the metrics we track as analysts at the CW Group, such as our Equipment Vendor Order Intake and Backlog indices and cement price monitoring. We mark the one-year anniversary of Japan’s devastating earthquake and tsunami, looking into the aftermath of these natural disasters on the local cement industry. In our Leader’s Comment feature, CemWeek speaks with Chairman of the Executive Committee at Çimentas, Mustafa Güclü, on Turkey’s pioneering cement industry, and the Director of Mombasa Cement, BT Shah, discusses the company’s marketing strategy for East Africa. Finally, from the research arm of the CW Group comes an update on global cement prices, based on national retail price tracking for 23 countries around the world among much more.

With 2011 over, CemWeek is pleased to look ahead at the innovations and new products set to shape the future of the cement industry. Issue 7 delineates new research into alkali-activated cement, a promising low carbon competitor, discusses intellectual property and product innovation with Dr. Davide Zampini of Cemex’s R&D Center, and provides a buoyant feature on concrete’s seafaring heydays, considering another way that old technology can be made new. Finally, the 2011 numbers are in, and CemWeek presents the research on global earnings and trade prices.

The December / January issue of the global, executive-oriented CemWeek Magazine takes a look back at 2011 to inform about the year ahead. Not only do we review some of the most important events permeating the global cement sector during 2011, but the editorial team shares its views on some of the most impactful leaders in the industry during the passed year in the "Person of the Year" feature.

The CW Group Research also shares its latest view on notable topics such as energy prices in the GCC-countries, Boral's expansion plans, South African anti-trust proceedings, and cement bulk shipping. The Magazine also takes a horizontal look at the leading CW Group cement sector surveys from the past year and talks to the MD at Italian lime manufacturing equipment manufacturer, Cimprogetti.

The October / November issue of the global, executive-oriented CemWeek Magazine takes a worldwide look at key issues facing global and local cement markets. In the central spotlight is a closer assessment of the Italian cement sector, drawing upon recent CW Group research, but also turning to Italian brokerage house Equitasim for their thoughts on the market dominated by Italcementi and Buzzi.

But the issue looks much beyond just Italy to important issues such as regulatory developments in the US and UK, Saudi fuel issues facing the cement industry there, as well as a closer look at Turkey through the eyes of KHD and India through the eyes of Polysius. On the quantitative side, Latin American cement prices are highlighted to better understand how cement trading is evolving in this burgeoning market.

This issue of the CemWeek Magazine looks at "European Centenarians," the 100-year histories of four cement plants. CemWeek also speaks to the Arabian Cement Co's CEO Jose Magrina on blending a Spanish company with an Egyptian cement enterprise.

The CW Group also highlights recent market research on the Caribbean cement market as well as ex-Soviet countries' cement production capacity. Additionally, CemWeek looks at 1H2011 performance for the big cement companies and regions around the world.
